There are 8 even integers before 42 and the other 8 integers are after 42.
The third of them will be 42 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 = 42 - 12 = 30.
[Alternatively, The first one will be 42 - (8 x 2) = 42 - 16 = 26.
The third one will be 26 + 2 + 2 = 30]
